Celebrating Juneteenth

Explore this page to find resources, events and other opportunities to recognize and celebrate the Juneteenth holiday. Now an official holiday in the state of Massachusetts, this annual event commemorates the June 19, 1865 notification to enslaved people in Texas that slavery had ended two years earlier in the United States.     Free, members-only training: Juneteenth Cultural Celebration: Awareness, Appropriation & Allyship

    In this training, you will learn about:

    • Learn how to be a contributing ally to the racial justice movement;
    • Gain an understanding of the nuances between cultural appropriation and celebration;
    • Learn how to identify and respond to cultural appropriation; and
    • Celebrate the different cultures of your fellow attendees and the Juneteenth holiday.
