Cleaning Guide for Furniture Products
All Sealed Finish Furniture: Our furniture does not require a lot of waxing, cleaning or polishing. It is finished with a lacquer that will provide you with years of lustrous beauty. Simply wipe up spills and dust it regularly. Dust with a standard water-based furniture polish and enjoy its handsome good lucks. DO NOT use kitchen, bathroom or window cleaners as they will damage finish. Cleaning product and spills should be wiped up promptly and not left to sit on the finish. Fontana, Oak Quarters and other light finish woods: To cover scratches, chips and wear marks in the finish, we recommend Old English LIGHT Scratch Cover. A small application of this product will effectively restore virtually any damage to the finish Maison Lenoir and other dark finish woods: To cover scratches, chips and wear marks in the finish, we recommend Old English DARK Scratch Cover. A small application of this product will effectively restore virtually any damage to the finish
Vinyl Mattress – Twin, Full and Queen Our mattresses are inherently flame retardant, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. Simply wipe down the mattress with a soap and water solution and wipe the mattress off to dry. Mattress should be flipped every month. Side to side and then top to bottom. This will extend the wear of the mattress. DO NOT use kitchen, bathroom cleaners as they will burn the surface.
Fully Upholstered Furniture To keep seating pieces from showing wear, flip your seat and back cushions every two weeks. We recommend that you occasionally vacuum your pieces. This will enhance the life or your seating pieces. Crypton Fabrics: Liquid Spills: Most spills can be easily cleaned with a towel before they dry. Just simply wipe up the spill with a clean cloth. We recommend a fabric cloth because a paper napkin or towel may fall apart and leave pieces of itself on the fabric. If this does happen just brush or vacuum the area. Please follow the instructions for Solid or Dried Stains if a residue remains after wiping.

Solid or Dried Stains: The key to removing solid or dried stains is to remove as much of the staining agent before applying the cleaning solution. By removing the majority of the staining agent, before applying the cleaning solution. By removing the majority of the staining agent, you can reduce the chance of the stain being rubbed into the fabric as it is cleaned. In many cases this process will completely remove the stain. IF the staining agent is heavy liquid (salad dressing, mayonnaise, etc.) slide a dull, flat knife (a butter knife works well) or similar object under the staining agent. Then, holding a clean clothe in the other hand, “lift” the staining agent from the fabric onto the clean cloth. In some cases where a heavy liquid staining agent (ketchup) has completely dried, try to remove the staining agent before washing, by either brushing or scraping the fabric. The goal is to have most of the staining agent removed before the fabric is washed. It is also VERY important to thoroughly brush or vacuum the area to remove the loose stain particles. IF the stain is oil based, please pre-treat the area with rubbing alcohol. To begin, liberally apply the alcohol to remain on the stain for 1-2 minutes. Then wipe the excess alcohol with a clean cloth. Crypton WET CLEANING TREATMENT: Crypton is best cleaned with an enzyme powder detergent and water. An example of an enzyme powder detergent is Tide, Cheer, etc. We recommend a mixture of 50% enzyme powder detergent and 50% water. Apply the solution to the stain and rub in with your latex gloved finger. Allow the solution to remain on the stain for at least one minute up to five minutes, if time allows. This will allows the powder detergent to start removing the staining agent. Then scrub the area with a clean nylon brush. Scrubbing time is dependent upon the type and size of the stain. Please remember to scrub aggressively in order to loosen the remaining staining agent from the fabric. After scrubbing, the area needs to be rinsed thoroughly. This will be accomplished successfully by wiping the area with a clean dry cloth in order to remove as much of the soap and water stain solution as possible. Then with a sponge and clean water thoroughly rinse the area. Water WILL NOT affect Crypton, so please use it liberally. Remember to remove all the soap because the fabric will look and perform its best when all the soap is removed. After rinsing the area, dry with a clean cloth. Any remaining moisture (wet spot) will completely evaporate in a short time. With Crypton water barrier, there is no worry of wetting the foam when thoroughly rinsing the fabric. Steam Cleaning: If this option is available, it is an ideal method of thoroughly cleaning Crypton. Spots can be removed by pre-treating them with either the soap solution (50% detergent and 50% water) or a pretreatment solution from the steam cleaning company.

Vinyl Fabric For normal cleaning use a soft cloth with mild soap and water. Then rinse the surface with clean water. To remove blood, urine, feces oil base paint, tar and asphalt use a 1:1 mix of ammonia and water. Rinse with clean water and dry. Use of a soft cotton cloth to wipe dry the vinyl For all other tough stains – Use a straight application of naphtha (lighter fluid). Rinse with clean water and dry. Then use a 1:1 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. If stain persists, use straight alcohol. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry.
Laminate Tables with PVC Edge and Metal Base: To clean the surface, use a damp cloth or sponge and a mild soap or detergent. Difficult stains such as coffee or tea can be removed using a MILD Household cleaner/detergent and a soft bristled brush, repeating as necessary. If a stain persists, use a paste of baking soda and water and apply with a soft bristled brush. Light scrubbing for 10 or 20 strokes should remove most stains. Although baking soda is a low abrasive, excessive scrubbing or exerting too much force could damage the decorative surface, especially if it has a gloss finish. Drain cleaners containing lye will permanently damage any laminate finish. If you spill a drain cleaner, wipe it up immediately and rinse several times with water. Hair, textile and food days and cause permanent stains. If dye should happen to spill, wipe it up immediately with dishwashing detergent or an all-purpose cleaner. Never place pots or dishes directly form the oven or burner on an unprotected laminate surface such extreme heat can cause cracking or blistering. Do not work with oven cleaners on an unprotected countertop. Wipe spills away promptly and rinse several times with water. Rust removers contain harsh chemicals which will quickly cause permanent damage. If a spill occurs, wipe off al residue immediately, wash thoroughly with soapy water and rinse several times. Toilet bowl cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can cause permanent damage. If a spill occur, wipe up immediately, was surface with soapy water and rinse several times. Steel wool and other abrasive pads will damage laminate. Tuffy Chairs and other Steel frame furniture Dust with soft cloth on a regular basis.
