Univeristy Roundtable will provide insight on connecting with college students
With the Massachusetts human services sector facing a severe shortage of workers available to meet the demand for services, the Providers’ Council is working to provide members with tools and resources to find the employees they need.
Part of these efforts include broadening and strengthening our relationships with local colleges and universities to educate more students about the diverse opportunities and unique rewards of working in human services.
On Wednesday, May 17th, the Council will host a free, members-only event – University Roundtable – to bring together providers’ HR and recruiting staff and representatives from Boston-area universities with strong social work and public service programs to network and talk about the best ways to meet and recruit students. This session will include representatives from Suffolk University, Boston College, Northeastern University and UMass Boston, who will provide an inside look at their internship/co-op programs and their career resource services to help you better understand how to reach their talented students. There will also be time for your questions.
University representatives will discuss how they manage their internships and co-op programs; best practices around successful student placements with agencies; and successes and challenges of job and internship placements.
Registration for University Roundtable is now open. The event will be held Wednesday, May 17th from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Justice Resource Institute, 160 Gould St., Needham. Please email Zack Mooney with any questions regarding this program or call him at 617.428.3637 x128.
