Training focuses on identifying, building career path

Career success is not always measured by moving up; often it's about increasing one’s value and visibility to be ready when opportunities for advancement arise.

As part of the Providers’ Council’s efforts to help human service organizations develop and retain valued staff, it will hold a workshop on career path development June 15 in Woburn. Led by trainer Kathy Maloney of WorkPaths Consulting, Navigating My Career for Success in Human Services will give participants the information, ideas and tools that will build on their current strengths and recognize growth opportunities.

Areas that will be addressed during the session include:

  • Identifying and interacting around "WIIFM" (What's in it for me) and how it applies to one’s organization;
  • Growing the participants’ strengths and brand, mission/values and how to more visibly share that value within an organization;
  • Creating a road map that highlights session reflections and discussions, and identifying three actions that can be taken back to the job; and
  • How to develop relationships with your leaders and mentors/learning partners in a hectic work environment, and brainstorming resources to help build on knowledge, skills and value.

This training will be held Wednesday, June 15th from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Youth Villages, 400 West Cummings Park, Suite 5200, in Woburn. Seating is limited, so register today.
