The Leadership Initiative is accepting applications
The Leadership Initiative, the Providers' Council's inter-agency mentoring program, accepts applications on an ongoing basis, with matches being made throughout the year.
This means you can apply any time to be a mentor or to request a mentor! Mentees and mentors will be paired as the Council receives applications. The pairs will connect for one hour each month over the span of a year, and can be in-person or by phone/ video chat. Goals, career path and geography are taken into consideration when making matches.
Whether you’ve seen the research or know from personal experience, a professional role model can have a significant impact on your life and career. The Leadership Initiative offered by the Providers' Council is a chance for experienced leaders to inspire the future of human services and the chance for future leaders to work with people who have shaped the sector.
It is also one of several ways in which the Council is working to help members retain top talent and to help illuminate career ladders in human services and underscore the impact of the work being done.
The unique, inter-agency helps to foster a collaborative environment among member agencies that allows for the sharing of resources, ideas and knowledge about the sector.
Eligible mentees are employees with supervisory responsibilities that would like to grow within their organizations. Candidates should be working in the sector, intend to remain in the sector long-term and have identified professional development goals they are ready to work towards.
Eligible mentors are senior management-level professionals who would like to empower an emerging leader in the sector by sharing their knowledge and experience.
