State Auditor Suzanne Bump and panelists present at forum
State Auditor Suzanne Bump and the Office of the State Auditor held a joint forum with the Providers' Council on Thursday, January 17 at Mass Bay Community College in Wellesley to discuss the audit process, best practices with the UFR and the differences between a state audit and a private CPA audit.
The forum began with Bump's keynote speech about the role of her office in the Commonwealth.
A panel presentation followed, featuring:
- Ron Ardine, Director of Administration & Finance at the Key Program, who presented the provider perspective of the audit process
- John Deneen, Director of Contract Audits, and Richard Wrona, Assistant Audit Director, both from the Office of the State Auditor, who reviewed audit components and gave providers tip on how to survive an audit.
- Janet O'Neill, director of CBIZ Tofias, discussed best practices with the UFR (Uniform Financial Report) and the differences of a private CPA audit.
Following the panel, a question and answer session took place with all panelists and Ken Woodland, Assistant Deputy Auditor for Audit Operations in the Office of the State Auditor.
