More support needed for Sen. Spilka Salary Reserve letter!
More than one-quarter of the Senate has signed on to help bring relief to human service workers by supporting a Salary Reserve in the Senate budget -- but that means nearly three-quarters of the Senate still need to hear from you.
Senator Karen Spilka has written a letter to Senate leadership, urging them to include a Salary Reserve to provide a modest cost-of-living increase for low-paid human services workers. But she plans to send the letter on Wednesday, May 9, and time is running out to encourage your senator to sign on.
So far, the following senators have co-signed Senator Spilka's letter: William Brownsberger, Sonia Chang-Diaz, Katherine Clark, Sal DiDomenico, Kenneth Donnelly, Eileen Donoghue, Patricia Jehlen, Brian Joyce, Michael Knapik, Michael Moore, and Michael Rodrigues.
Now we need additional support! If you don't see your senator's name listed, please visit The Caring Force website and use our pre-written letter to ask them to sign onto Senator Spilka's letter! You can also call them and ask them to sign on, if you prefer (and you can look up their contact information here).
If your senator's name is already listed above, please call them and thank them for their support!
Thank you for your advocacy on this important issue. We will be sure to keep you posted as we progress through the budget process.
