Council holds members-only roundtable discussion on safety
The Providers’ Council on Monday held a members-only roundtable discussion on the topic of Supporting a Culture of Safety in Human Service Organizations. The event was hosted by Seven Hills Foundation in Worcester and more than 25 senior managers representing a variety of roles in their agencies and populations served attended the discussion.
The group discussed strategies and challenges related to building and sustaining a culture of safety, including the safety of staff, clients and the community. Also discussed were a variety of elements that make up a culture of safety, including policies and procedures, training, ongoing conversations about safety, supervision on safety and assessment.
The Council is organizing a training on Workplace Safety for Human Service Workers on Thursday, March 28 in Framingham. The training will be conducted by Skip Stuck and Kevin Nicastro of Family Continuity with funding under a grant from the Department of Industrial Accidents.
