Learn more about student loan forgiveness at PSLF webinar
The first wave of qualified borrowers working in nonprofits and/or public service became eligible for debt relief in September through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The Providers' Council is hosting a free, members-only information session via webinar on Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with The Institute of Student Loan Advisors (TISLA) to help widen public understanding of the PSLF program and its eligibility criteria. Participants will gain an understanding of the PSLF program and employers can learn how this program can be used to recruit and retain quality employees.
Department of Education data, as well as anecdotal information from borrowers, suggests that many borrowers who are eligible for the program do not have a clear understanding of how this program works or may not know of its existence at all.
Program expert Betsy Mayotte, president of TISLA, will address which loans are potentially eligible for PSLF, how to apply, how to maintain eligibility for the program and how employers can use PSLF for recruitment and retention.
