Learn from the best through The Leadership Initiative
Succession planning is a priority of many human services employers and career advancement is a priority for many human service workers. The Providers' Council's inter-agency mentoring program - The Leadership Initiative – addresses both issues.
Applications are now available for the year-long program that begins in March. Applications for both mentors and mentees are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 24th.
It's no secret that a leadership vacuum is headed for the Massachusetts human services sector: Many individuals who were instrumental in creating the community-based human services programs are preparing to retire in the next several years. The Leadership Initiative aims to help Council members build a bench of strong, innovative up-and-coming individuals who will be ready to move into management positions when the time comes.
Mentees are employees with supervisory responsibilities that would like to grow within their organizations. Learn more about becoming a mentee.
Mentors are senior management-level professionals who would like to empower an emerging leader in the sector by sharing their knowledge and experience. Learn more about becoming a mentor and joining our roster of mentors.
Pairings are made based on career goals of the mentee and geographic location to facilitate and encourage in-person meetings. Pairs are required to meet monthly for 1 hour, with six of those meetings in person.
