Boston College and Providers’ Council release joint report on Social Innovation
The Center for Social Innovation at Boston College and the Providers' Council released a joint report on social innovation in Massachusetts human services on Monday, March 25. The report, Leading The Way: Social Innovation in Massachusetts, details the experiences of more than 20 Council member agencies in Massachusetts who have implemented social innovation successfully over the last decade to improve their ability to achieve their social missions.
Identified in the report are four categories of social innovation being implemented by human service organizations in the Commonwealth: innovations in resource development, innovations in products or services offered to clients/program participants, new organizational structures, and customizing existing service models for new populations. In addition, Leading The Way shares advice from innovators in the field about their innovation process, barriers and facilitators faced along the way, and advice for would-be innovators.
