It’s raining trainings this April to help grow your career
Talk about April showers! The Providers' Council is offering a deluge of training opportunities this month, including half-day trainings, a seminar with national and local experts and a free webinar.
Register by Friday, April 6 to join the Council for the luncheon seminar, Unleash the Power of the Human Services Ecosystem. Susan Dreyfus, President and CEO for Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, brings a national perspective on human services, our workforce and changing the ways dollars are being spent in high-cost systems with chronically poor outcomes. Community-based organizations are a key component of the human services ecosystem, and Dreyfus will discuss ways to unleash its power. Council research partners Christina Citino and Michael Goodman, of the Donahue Institute and UMass Dartmouth Public Policy Center, respectively, will provide the Massachusetts angle, sharing new empirical data on the makeup of our human services workforce from size to estimated coming demand to gender and ethnicity, as well as the financial challenges and student loan debt the sector carries. Register here by April 6.
The popular six-week Certificate in Supervision Series also starts this month, with sessions taking place at WORK Inc. in Dorchester. Participants earn a certificate by completing all six half-day courses, and may also be eligible for up to 18 NASW CEUs. It starts April 19, and fills up fast! Learn more and register here.
The other professional development opportunities coming up this month include Conducting Effective Internal Investigation (only a few seats left!), taking place in Watertown on April 13; Managing a Multigenerational Workforce, offered in Worcester on April 25; and Got Conflict? Deal with Conflict Effectively: Tools for your Toolbox, offered in Framingham on April 26th.
Can't get out of the office? A free, members-only webinar, Innovation from Within: Intrapreneurship for Human Services, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Presenter Stephanie Cosner Berzin is an Assistant Dean at Boston College School of Social Work. Register here.
