Fall will bring our most popular trainings

Back-to-school season is almost here and the Providers’ Council’s fall professional development and educational training schedule is taking shape.

The fall sessions of the Council’s popular six-week Certificate in Supervision Series will be held on Thursdays on the North Shore starting October 5th. Offered three times a year in various parts of the state, the Supervision Series sells out quickly.

Some of our best-reviewed trainers are scheduled to lead the six blocks, which include Communications & Leadership, Situational Leadership, Conflict Management, Team Training, Performance Management and Group Planning and Decision Making. Participants earn a certificate upon completion of all six blocks and may qualify for 18 NASW CEUs. The classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bridgewell, 10 Dearborn Road in Peabody on Oct. 5th and 19th; November 2nd, 9th and 30th; and December 7th. Learn more and register here.

Another popular offering – Conducting Effective Internal Investigations – is being offered on Wednesday, Sept. 27th, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Worcester. Led by seasoned investigator Jean Haertl, the course is an intensive, one-day interactive training session designed to provide you with a thorough grounding in conducting workplace investigations.

Participants will learn how to effectively initiate and conduct internal workplace investigations into policy violations, including complaints of discriminatory harassment, retaliation, unprofessional conduct, workplace bullying and violence. While particularly relevant for human resources and legal staff, supervisors in all departments can benefit from the information and techniques presented in this training.

This session will be held at Seven Hills Foundation, 81 Hope Ave., in Worcester. Learn more and register here.

The Council’s 42nd Annual Convention & Expo: We’re All In also offers a number of professional development and CEU opportunities. Browse the 34 workshops here.

And finally, there are a few seats available in the year-long Certificate in Nonprofit Human Services Management program at Clark University in Worcester that begins in September. Complete information about this graduate-level program is available here.
