EOHHS to hold listening sessions on regulation review
On January 15, 2015 Governor Charlie Baker issued Executive Order No. 562, in an effort to reduce regulatory burdens on the Commonwealth. In accordance with this, each state agency must review all regulations that fall under its jurisdiction in the Code of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR). State agencies and offices across the Commonwealth are coordinating and collaborating with one another during this process to identify and address regulations that are confusing, inconsistent, redundant or unnecessary.
The Providers' Council submitted a letter to the Secretary of Administration and Finance, Kristen Lepore, in September in order to discuss regulations of concern to the human services sector. The Council also submitted regulations through the Executive Office of Administration and Finance's online portal. Council members are encouraged to submit their thoughts using the online portal.
In an effort to gain further input from the public, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) has scheduled five, two-hour Listening Sessions in Boston, Lawrence, Springfield, Taunton and Worcester. Each listening session will highlight specific EOHHS regulations.
