Council to host roundtable on fingerprinting regulations
The Providers' Council will host a members-only Human Resources Roundtable on fingerprinting regulations on Thursday, March 24 at 11 a.m.
The event will bring will bring together fellow human resources staff and executives to discuss best practices for assuring that your organization is compliant with the fingerprinting regulations that went into effect on Jan. 4, 2016 under Chapter 234 of the Acts of 2014, An Act Requiring National Background Checks.
In planning for implementation, Massachusetts has tried to minimize the impact on provider organizations and others who will be involved in implementing this mandate. Nevertheless, some additional work by those in human resources roles will be required at the outset in order begin the processing over the next three years as Massachusetts works to achieve full compliance by January 1, 2019.
Specific topics that will be covered in the 90-minute session include how organizations can track fingerprinting; will organizations be responsible for reimbursing current and prospective employees; and what system or systems do agencies already have in place that are helpful for compliance and what may help streamline this process?
