Council sends letter in opposition to Right of First Refusal provision
The Providers' Council joined other human services membership associations on Thursday, February 18 in sending a letter to the Joint Committee on Revenue in opposition to Section 27 of House Bill 3908, An act modernizing municipal finance and government. The section would give cities and towns a "right of first refusal" provision on nonprofits wishing to sell or change use for property.
Providers' Council President and CEO Michael Weekes -- along with other membership association leaders -- signed the letter to Senate Chairman Michael Rodrigues, House Chairman Jay Kaufman and members of the Joint Committee.
The Council will provide more information to members as it becomes available. If you have questions, please contact Bill Yelenak.
