Council asks Congress to support legislation to extend charitable giving incentives
Senators are expected to pass a short-term tax bill that essentially renews three charitable giving incentives for only three weeks – from the date of enactment until the end of the year. The Providers' Council asked Senator Markey, Senator Warren and Representative Tierney to make the three charitable tax incentives (extenders) permanent before
adjourning by expressing their support for H.R. 5806 and in turn supporting our community-based human services providers and other nonprofits.
The permanence of the three charitable tax incentives -- the IRA Rollover, the enhanced deduction for donations of food inventories and donations of conservation easements -- will have a significant impact on Massachusetts nonprofits and residents.
