Council announces $10,000 scholarship recipient
The Providers' Council on Wednesday, July 2 announced that Josephine Pang of The Home for Little Wanderers has been named the recipient of the 2014 Providers' Council Graduate Scholarship. The scholarship, designed to promote the Council's ongoing objective of developing the sector's workforce, will present Pang with a one-time award of $10,000 to support her pursuit of a Master's in Social Work degree from Boston College. An award presentation will be made at the Council's 39th Annual Convention & Expo: We Create Community on November 17 at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel in Boston.
The Council's Scholarship Selection Committee -- Joe Leavey, Mia Alvarado, Dan Nakamoto, Dora Robinson, Robert Stearns, Susan Wayne and Michael Weekes -- thanks everyone who submitted applications. The committee was impressed with the many outstanding candidates for the award.
The human services sector is very fortunate to have so many incredible professionals working hard to make a difference, and the Providers' Council is pleased to be able to award its Graduate Scholarship for the first time to further support the growth of our future leaders.
