CEUs available for upcoming Council trainings
At the request of members' employees, the Providers' Council will be applying for continuing education units from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for all of our half-day training sessions. Previously, the Certificate in Supervision Series and the Providers' Council's Annual Convention were the only staff development opportunities at which employees could receive CEUs for their Social Work License.
Applying for the CEUs for the half-day programs, which are offered throughout the year at member sites around the state on a wide variety of subjects, adds yet another value and incentive to these programs for attendees seeking to advance in their chosen fields.
Three trainings currently on the 2016 calendar have already been approved for 3 NASW CEUs. They are Got Conflict? Deal with Conflict Effectively, taking place on February 4th; NASW's Workplace Safety, on February 25th; and Domestic Violence, It's Everyone's Business, on March 15th.
Our online event listings will reflect the status of our CEU applications. Because the approval process takes 4-6 weeks, you will see the note "* Application for social work continuing education credits has been submitted" as we await confirmation. Once approval has been received, it will be updated to: "*This program has been approved for ___ Social Work Continuing Education hours for relicensure, in accordance with 258 CMR. Collaborative of NASW and the Boston College and Simmons Schools of Social Work Authorization Number _______" at the bottom of each training description.
If you have any questions about Providers' Council trainings or where we are in the process of applying for NASW CEUs, please email Ella Froggatt or call 617.428.3637 x126.
