Celebrate NVRD; register to vote on Sept. 22!
Tomorrow -- Sept. 22 -- is the big day! Are you, your staff, your clients and consumers and all those your agency touches ready to participate?
Tuesday, September 22 is National Voter Registration Day in which nonprofits in Massachusetts and across America are encouraging individuals to register to vote.
CareVote and the Providers' Council have signed on as sponsors of National Voter Registration Day and Nonprofit Votes Count, an initiative dedicated to getting those affiliated with nonprofits registered to vote.
We urge you to take five minutes today to participate by:
- Forwarding this message through your networks, asking your staff, clients, consumers and everyone your agency touches to register to vote! It couldn't be easier to register to vote in Massachusetts now that we have online voter registration. No stamps or envelopes needed -- simply follow this link and fill out the online form! And if you moved since the last time you voted, you can use this form to update your registration to your new address!
- Show support at your agency. If you have posters, stickers or other materials, use them creatively. Put a poster in your break room or cafeteria reminding employees how they can register to vote. There's many other ways to put materials around the office to engage staff and clients as well.
- Spread the message using your agency's social media. Please make a post on Facebook or send a message on Twitter directing folks to the online registration form in Massachusetts or the National Voter Registration Day website. Feel free to tag @MassCouncil in your message as well or share our links!
We look forward to collaborating with you to register residents of the Commonwealth who will vote to support caring communities. Thank you for the work you do every day in our cities and towns, and thank you for encouraging participation in National Voter Registration Day on September 22!
If you have any questions or you'd like to share a story about how your agency participated in National Voter Registration Day, please email Christine Batista at the Providers' Council.
