Applications available for master’s-level Certificate Program

Applications are now available for the Providers’ Council’s graduate level 2018-19 Certificate in Nonprofit Human Services Management Program, offered in Worcester and Boston.

The Council will host informational webinars on March 8 and March 22, to introduce the program to prospective applicants. The Certificate Program, which runs the course of the academic year (approximately September to May or June), is designed for mid-career human service professionals who seek to strengthen their management skills and learn in specialized, sector-specific classes with peers from other human service agencies. Get the application.

Offered in partnership with Clark University in Worcester and Suffolk University in Boston, the program is composed of six mandatory blocks of classes that meet once a week -- Wednesdays at Clark and Fridays at Suffolk -- from 9 a.m. to 4 or 4:30 p.m. The curriculum of the Certificate Program blocks help build skills and knowledge in key areas so that students can immediately apply what they are learning in the classroom to their work in the field. Classes include:

  • Nonprofit Human Service Management
  • Financial Management
  • Program and Policy Evaluation
  • Human Resources Management
  • Legal & Ethical Issues for Nonprofits
  • Alternative Revenue Strategies for Nonprofits

In addition, the program offers students a unique opportunity to grow their network of peers and connects them with other human services managers and leaders to support the sharing of ideas. Students who successfully complete the program and who already have a bachelor's degree may be eligible to transfer credits toward a graduate degree.

The Council information sessions by webinar are scheduled for March 8 at 10 a.m. with Clark University and March 22nd at 10 a.m. with Suffolk University. Click here for more information and to register for one or both of these webinars.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 27th. For more information, including the 2018-2019 application, please visit the Certificate Program page. If you have any questions, please email Amanda McCarthy.
