The Certificate in Nonprofit Human Service Management program at Suffolk University has filled to capacity this year, but limited seats are still available in the Clark program.
Each of the states has filed a blueprint for creating a Health Insurance Marketplace (formerly known as the American Health Benefit Exchanges). These Exchanges are projected to be operational on January 1, 2014. Under the regulations, a large employer's potential Shared Responsibility Penalty may be avoided, or postponed, for some group health plans. We expect to continue to be inundated with new guidance and regulations in the coming months as the commencement of State Exchanges nears.

The Providers' Council co-sponsored a forum on Thursday, January 26 to advance human services social enterprises and purpose businesses in Massachusetts. Other co-sponsors included the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and the Massachusetts Chapter of the Social Enterprise Alliance. The forum provided an opportunity to learn about resources available to social enterprises and to discuss what additional support is needed. The forum was well attended by more than fifty providers, state representatives, and academics interested in social enterprise.
