Remembering all those who serve our community

As we remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we would like to take a moment to commemorate and give thanks to all those who serve our country and our community.

We’re moving—and have furniture & other items to donate!

The Providers' Council will be moving to 88 Broad St., Boston, MA 02210 starting on Thursday, Sept. 14. Due to the move, we will be closed for business on Friday, Sept. 15, but will do our best to respond to any inquiries we receive at our earliest convenience. We have an assortment of office furniture, technology, and other items available for donation. See what they are and contact us with any questions or to request to pick them up!

Salary Reserve Materials Available Online

The Providers' Council received notice from the Executive Office of Health and Human Services that they are proceeding with establishing the FY 2013 Salary Reserve in accordance with the language in the FY 13 Conference Budget that you helped to secure for human service workers! Health Care Cost Containment bill on its way to Governor’s desk

After an exhaustive and careful deliberation, the Health Care Conference Committee -- led by Representative Steven Walsh and Senator Richard Moore -- has reached an agreement on Health Care Cost Containment legislation, more commonly known as the "Payment Reform Bill." At almost 350 pages, the bill is considerable in both its scope and ambition. It will create a more efficient, more accountable, and more transparent health care system.

Senate overrides Governor’s veto, ensures annualized Salary Reserve!

The Senate voted unanimously Thursday to override Governor Deval Patrick's veto of the Salary Reserve. As the House voted to override the Governor's veto on Tuesday, this completes the override process and secures a $20 million annualized salary increase for our sector's dedicated direct care workers.

House unanimously overrides Governor’s Salary Reserve veto!

The House voted unanimously on Tuesday afternoon to override Governor Deval Patrick’s veto of the Human Services Salary Reserve. Governor Patrick vetoed the $20 million Salary Reserve on July 8.

Veto override letter with 108 signers sent to Speaker DeLeo

Rep. David Linsky has sent a letter to House Speaker Robert DeLeo, asking him to override Governor Deval Patrick's veto of the Salary Reserve. The letter has the support of 108 representatives, nearly 70 percent of the House. Rep. Linsky plans to send the letter to Speaker DeLeo on Monday, July 16.

Council issues RFR for Healthcare Policy Consultant

On Friday, July 13, the Providers' Council issued a Request for Response for a Healthcare Policy Consultant to assist the Council in understanding the policy and program impact of emerging federal and state healthcare issues as they impact the Council's membership and to assist the Council in developing healthcare policy positions. Responses are due to Bill Yelenak ( no later than Monday, July 23 at noon.

Rep. David Linsky's is writing a letter to House Speaker Robert DeLeo, asking him to override Governor Deval Patrick's veto of the Salary Reserve, and 100 representatives have now signed onto the letter!
