Position

Transition to Adulthood Vocational Internship Program (TAP-VIP) Assistant- Part-time Temporary
Reports to TAP Coordinator

Summary:


The Center for Living & Working is a non-profit independent living center, which takes its direction from persons with disabilities. We advocate to empower persons with disabilities to take active roles in their lives and in the community in which they live. We provide comprehensive and innovative programs and services in order to maximize individual independence and opportunities. We are driven by the belief that consumers must always be equal members of society with equal access

Responsibilities:

    Support overall functioning of TAP-VIP.
    Actively work with interns/participants and TAP team.
    Provide skills training and peer to peer supports to interns/participants to successfully complete tasks required while following the worksite rules and guidelines.
    Help teach and reinforce appropriate employment etiquette and interpersonal skills.
    Assist interns/participants in identifying other community resources that may support vocational or other related goals.
    Assist interns/participants in preparing and submitting required paperwork on a timely basis.
    Maintain working relationship between CLW and worksite staff including, but not limited to, resolving issues and sharing information, as needed.
    Develop activities that will involve interns/participants as a group to develop teamwork and inclusion.
    Work closely with and report issues and progress to TAP Coordinator.
    Maintain strict confidentiality.
    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

    Individuals with disabilities encouraged to apply.
    1-3 years of relevant experience.
    Demonstrated ability to work with individuals who live with a disability.
    Good communication, interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills.
    Ability to cooperate with supervisor.
    Ability to be active within a team.
    Must have own transportation and ability to travel within CLW’s service area and beyond.
