IMPACT EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
LOCATION: 105 Chauncy St, Boston, MA 02111
SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Employment Counselor provides employment related services to achieve job placement, retention, and career advancement aligned with individuals’ economic security goals. Researches, identifies job leads, and effectively collaborates with employers to achieve job placement and career advancement outcomes. Works closely with job training/educational providers and housing agencies to meet program goals related to, training enrollment and housing placements. Maintains client records, collects and enters data, and prepares reports within established protocol/timeframe.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree [BA can be substituted for four (4) years of experience]
• Two (2) years of experience as a case manager or employment counselor in workforce development, job training, adult education, or adult development program
• Working knowledge of workforce development principles, theories, and practices
• Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, implements plans, and meet deadlines
• Individual must have a high degree of cultural sensitivity
• Ability to work effectively with diverse people and situations
• Knowledge of community resources
• Ability to collaborate with other community offices and organizations to establish effective support networks for clients is required
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to use computer, calculator, fax, copier and other office equipment
• Ability to access different building locations and program sites
