The Haven Project operates a social enterprise and job training center called Land of A Thousand Hills Café, offering single origin collaborative trade Rwandan coffee, organic teas and high quality breakfast and lunch foods and has seating capacity for 50 people.

Their job training clients (16-20 each year) work in paid positions alongside experienced baristas and food preparers and are selected from our client base, young adults between the ages of 17-24 who do not have a stable place to live. They choose clients who are at highest risk and/or who have been repeatedly fired from previous jobs.  In  working with this population, they have found it relatively easy to help clients get jobs but most clients cannot keep jobs, largely due to three reasons: instability, poor work habits, and lack of adult role models and coaching. Land of A Thousand Hills Café offers hands-on, supportive job training combined with intensive case management to remove barriers to employment success.  In addition to a 12-week part time paid position, clients earn certifications such as Serve-safe and CPR, and then they work with job coach to find their next position.
