Members-only Webinar: The Pending MassHealth Shift to ACOs
The MassHealth program is embarking on a dramatic shift away from fee-for-service Medicaid to a reimbursement model that relies more on value and quality. The Baker Administration hopes to accomplish this through enrolling some MassHealth enrollees into accountable care organizations, or ACOs, and has chosen 17 ACOs across the state to implement the initiative. By first putting the concept of ACOs in the larger context of a shift away from volume-based reimbursement, this webinar will drill down on the manner in which the new ACO model will affect Massachusetts human services providers.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to better understand each of these important issues.
- Setting the stage: the MassHealth waiver, ACOs, and the shift to value-based health care;
- Understanding how human services providers will partner with ACOs;
- Developing a contractual relationship between human services providers and ACOs;
- Understanding and addressing legal risks that may arise.
