Hiring for a More Diverse Workforce

This training will enhance your ability to successfully interview and hire diverse talent by addressing interviewer bias, legal pitfalls and objective interview techniques. The methodology will allow you to be more inclusive in identifying candidates with relevant strengths to meet the needs of your agency. You will practice the behavioral interviewing approach to planning, conducting and evaluating employment interviews.

 

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

Participants in this program will:

  • Recognize the impact of interviewer bias and how to reduce it;
  • Review legal guidelines for non-discriminatory interviewing;
  • Practice questioning techniques that draw out candidates' actual expertise; and
  • Explore behavioral interviewing as a tool to build a diverse workforce
