Crisis Communications for Human Service Organizations

Inappropriate tweets from the agency account. Mismanaged finances. Reports of non-compliance.  Neglectful or abusive behavior by staff.  The way in which an organization addresses unexpected events large and small can have a lasting impact on overall stability affecting everything from leadership to staffing to funding. It's important to understand how, when and if to respond to negative situations that can arise. In this Crisis Communications Roundtable, our panel will discuss different events and scenarios, ways in which to prepare and respond, when and how to get everyone in your organization on the same page and more.

Roundtable Objectives:

       • Discuss different types of situations and recognize what is or could be a crisis;
       • Learn about how to prepare for a crisis and different ways to respond to the media and to the public;
       • Learn from peers about their approaches.

       • David A. Ball, President, Ball Consulting Group, LLC
       • Barbara Trevisan, Director of Communications, Pine Street Inn
       • Andrea Mitsch, AVP of Communications, WORK, Inc.
       • Larry Spencer, CEO, Tempus Unlimited, Inc.
