Wednesday, August 25th is the last day to register to vote in the September 14 primaries

Today, Wednesday, September 25, is the deadline to register to vote in the Sept. 14 primary elections, or to change party enrollment.

Local election offices will be open until 8 p.m. today. If you can't go in person, you can complete the National Voter Registration form, but be sure to mail it to your Town or City Clerk's office, as there will not be sufficient time for the Secretary of the Commonwealth to receive your form and get it to your municipality.

Individuals who are U.S. citizens, residents of Massachusetts and who will be at least 18 on or before Sept. 14 are eligible to register. A voter who has moved must register again at their new address to be eligible to vote in the primary. Voters registered in a political party may only vote in that party's primary. Voters registered as unenrolled may vote in any party primary and will remain unenrolled.

At this point, the fastest way to register is to go to your town or city hall, but if you do use the online form, remember to mail it to your Town or City Clerk and have it postmarked by tomorrow.

For complete information on the registration process as we proceed to November 2, go to the CareVote website or visit the Secretary of the Commonwealth's website. If you have questions email carevote@providers.org.
