Human Resources Roundtable

This roundtable is for Human Resources Directors or Managers at Providers' Council member organizations. The HR roundtable is an opportunity for participants to network with their peers and share knowledge about HR issues that may be particular to the human services sector.

HR Roundtable offers opportunities for:

• Networking & relationship building
• Professional development
• Staying cutting edge on HR trends in the nonprofit sector
• Learning from peers about strategies that work

The HR Roundtable meets every other month at different member organizations. The format and agenda of the roundtable meetings are determined by the participants. The HR Roundtable hosts presenters from within the group or guest speakers to address critical issues. Each presentation is followed by ample time for discussion and exchange, as colleagues and peers often serve as the best resources.

Recently addressed topics include:

Training collaboration, employee relations & communication, expanding your intern program, managing intergenerational differences, recruitment and retention, and locating and hiring the best talent.

March HR Roundtable Event: Employee Handbooks and Web 2.0 Policies

This discussion will focus on the development and content of employee handbooks, with particular attention to Web 2.0 policies. What are the most important policies to include? How do you go about writing an employee handbook? How often do you review them and what is the process? Bring sections of your own employee handbook that are exemplary or for which you need feedback!
