FMLA and ADA Boot Camp
This highly practical, interactive program will give you a firm grounding of your agency's obligations under the FMLA, ADA and related Massachusetts laws, with an emphasis on recent changes and current developments. Attorneys from Hirsch Roberts Weinstein will cover the most common questions posed and mistakes made by their human service clients.
The program will cover questions such as:
- How long should you permit an employee to remain on leave?
- What kinds of reasonable accommodations are you required to provide?
- What kinds of policies should you adopt with respect to light duty, to support an injured employee while maintaining your ability to meet the needs of the clients you serve on a limited payroll budget?
- What types of documentation are you required to prepare in connection with FMLA and ADA situations?
- How can you effectively manage situations where employees require "intermittent" leave?
- Are there any "must have" policy provisions you should add to your Employee Handbook to demonstrate your support for persons with disabilities, while maintaining your ability to effectively run your business?
- What steps can you take to reduce the risk of job-related injuries?
- Can/should you implement a pre-employment medical screening program?
- What types of policies should you adopt with respect to parental leave for men and women?
