The Emerging Leaders Network is a Providers' Council program designed to equip and empower the future leaders of the human service sector. The Network aims to accomplish the following goals, defined by the Emerging Leaders themselves as top priorities:

• Networking
• Professional development
• Leadership development
• Gaining knowledge about nonprofit sector trends 
  

Who is an Emerging Leader?

Any employee of a Providers’ Council member agency who:

• Serves in a middle management position with supervisory responsibilities;
• Has an interest in filling a leadership position; and
• Seeks advancement in networking, professional development, leadership development and knowledge of the nonprofit sector.

The goal of the network is to give emerging leaders the opportunity to participate in state-wide professional development activities and provide the tools and support for leadership development through the network events and formal trainings.

Each training and event focuses on a specific topic, identified by the Emerging Leaders as a skill set or tool that is crucial to leadership in the human service sector.

• May 13, 2010: Using Social Media for Your Professional Development
• July 8, 2010: Public Speaking
• September 9, 2010: Team Building
• October 14, 2010: Budgets and Contracts
• December 9,2010: Outcomes and Performance Management

When: Events will take place the second Thursday of the month from 12:30- 2:30 p.m.& Trainings will take place the second Thursday of the month and the times will vary.

Where: Both Events & Trainings will be held at different human service member agencies
